Bach Flower Remedies

  • What are Bach Flower remedies?

Bach flower remedies were developed by Dr Edward Bach in the 1930’s. He observed that illness presented in the body when there was mental disharmony. When flower remedies aid a person emotionally, resolution of physical illness can follow.

Rescue remedy is a commonly known mix of several flower remedies which is often used in times of intense or sudden anxiety. All together, there are 38 Bach flower remedies, and they can help with a wide range of emotions such as anxiety, fear, loneliness, sadness, depression, motivation and discouragement.

  • It is believed that the flower remedies work by their different energies or vibrations which is transferred from the flower during preparation of the flower remedy.

Choosing the correct flower remedy for the individual to match their emotional state is key. The flower remedies can be used in isolation or as a combination of several.

The flower remedies are safe to use alongside other supplements or medications, and can be given to anyone from babies to the elderly.

  • The therapist will take time listening to your current concerns, whether that is anxiety, loneliness or fear. They will ask questions to gain a greater understanding of what flower remedies would best support you at this moment in time.

After the consultation, the therapist will choose and prepare the flower remedies that suit you. This can vary from one single flower remedy, up to seven individual flower remedies. You’ll then be sent them in a glass bottle, with instructions on how to take them. It is usually advised that you take four drops of the remedy, four times a day in a little water or directly under your tongue.

Depending on what is going on for you, you may need your remedies changed after a duration of taking the first bottle.

I have been using bach flower remedies for my nutrition clients, and will now also be offering stand alone Bach flower remedy consultations, both in person or online. As helpful as it is to consider our physical symptoms, we are limiting ourselves if we do not also focus on our emotional wellbeing.
